The shoulders were quite a challenge due to the very round shape. It took me a while to find out on how I could start. The first try went right to the bin.
Finally I started getting an idea of how I could do the shoulders and this has a lot to do with building stuff that you won't need in the final version.
So I started constructing the basis for building the shoulder armor.
With foam I took the next step, creating the "real" form for the shoulder armor, while starting on the round sides with another construction that is only there for helping with the build and will be removed when the shoulder is almost done.
When this helping construction was done I started making the round ends of the shoulder.
I also cut the frame for the insertion out of foam and got a good relief with two layers of foam. Then it was almost done, just some cutting here and there, glueing here and there and making the second shoulder.
Of course I didn't forget, that the shoulder has a deep insertion plus a center piece. The center piece will be made as soon as the shoulder is really finished, but the insertion is already done!
