The cod piece is a real problem, as the details are in different places. Therefore I had to cut off the two boxes! I did this after I heated the codpiece and fitted it closer to my body, as it was really loose around the hips.

Then I used fibreglass to not only strengthen the codpiece but also to close the holes, that I cut into it. As soon as the fiberglass is done, I will completely fill the holes with polyester putty.
