Starkiller Reloaded...

With some costumes it is an ongoing process of improving them. Especially with those costumes that consist of various layers and that you are wearing the whole day.

My Starkiller - Sith Robes costume is one of these costumes. After trooping in it for the first time I realised there were some things that need to have some improvement.

Therefore I changed something on my cloak, made a new flak vest and did a little here and a little there.

The biggest problem of the whole costume are the chest and shoulder armor parts. Having made them of PVC, soon I had the problem that the paint went off. No matter what I did...the paint went off, despite sanding it and having used primer before applying the paint.

In the end I started doing a mold from the PVC parts, trying to produce the armor out of fibreglass. If only had the molds worked out.

Finally, I did what I should have done before. When I started on my Republic Commando I concentrated on doing it as a Pepakura build. So I started doing a little Pepakura on my Starkiller as well...

As it worked out pretty well (okay, the shoulder armor was an easy one ;-) ), I also decided to do the chest armor that way.

This one was a bit harder due to its shape, the bow and the round edges. But once you've figured it out it is quite easy and I'm quite content with the result. All the other stuff will be done after hardening and fiberglassing the paper model.
