Ori Soldier Version 3.0 - Part 1

Now some updates on the Ori Soldier Version 3.0!

Part of the upgrade ist to replace the leg armor. As the parts on which the "metal plates" sit aren't quite well formed I decided to go for a pepakura build as well. But as I don't know how it will work out and if it works with the leatherette I decided to do only one leg first.

No matter if it works or not I will show you what I have so far:

That's the basic form of the leg. Of course I needed to make it a bit rounder, so that it fits the leg and the form given in the series.

But as you can't just bend paper that is glued together like that, I had to slice it up and get a background (well, the background has been my intention from the start as this will hopefully help with getting the leatherette material over the whole form...

It doesn't look quite nice, but it has just to provide the basic form. The rest will (hopefully) be done by fiberglas and the leather.

Here is a photo showing the leg armor after the hardening progress. The next step is to do some fibreglassing.
