Snowtrooper - Part 8

The biggest challenge of my snowtrooper kit are the missing details. Edges are smooth where they should be rather sharp.

This also lead to the problem with the backpack. The sides of the backpack have such round edges, that there is simply no space to put the front and back on them. You couldn't even glue them to the sides as they would just slip away.

Therefore I needed to create space where I could put front and back on. But this time it couldn't be done by simply using a Dremel to make the edges sharper.

This time I needed material into which I could work to get the space that I need.

Before some of your might try this on their backpack I want to mention, that I have no clue, if this one will work. It is still a work in progress and in my case it is: I can't use this backpack as it is anyway, so I have nothing to lose. If it works out I will have a backpack, if it doesn't I have the same problem as before: I need a new backpack.

To get the material I need I filled the sides with epoxy.

Then I started putting the spare material off, which meant to cut into the epoxy as well. So you get an idea of how round the edges were (!).

I also started working out the detail in the center, so that it is actually there! As soon I've finished the first side, I will do the same on the other. I'll keep you updated!
